Due to support of Norway grants (with contribution of 85% of project budget)
and Polish government (with contribution of 15% of project budget) we were able to
combine efforts of four talented groups of consortium members.
Silesian University of Technology is responsible for:
Principal Investigator Coordinating project execution, supporting laboratory work during engine retrofitting, developing software for data acquisition during lab-scale tests, supporting the demonstration stage, controlling data exchange process between project partners
WP2 and WP5 leader Involved with lab-scale test, retrofitting CI engine for ammonia injection, designing fuel line and fuel injection systems, engine calibration, engine performance tests for various operational conditions
WP4 leader Coordinating the assessment of sustainability and economic profitability of the technology, responsible for LCA, thermo-ecological and exergo-economic analyses
Supporting numerical and experimental works during lab-scale tests and the demonstration stage, advising in the sustainability work package
Supporting the development of methodology for retrofitting the engine for ammonia combustion, testing engine at various operating conditions, supporting experimental work during all tests
PhD student, developing application for monitoring engine operation conditions, developing procedure for data acquisition, analysing data collected during lab-scale tests
Technical support while performing laboratory tests in WP2 and the field tests in WP5, maintenance of test stand and of the pilot system

PhD student, Involved with WP4 activities, responsible for inventory analysis, model preparation for the purpose of exergy, exergoeconomic and TEC analyses, performing verification and validation of the models
Norwegian University of Science and Technology contributed by adding their knowledge in areas like:
Researcher, Work package 1 leader. Overseeing the design, development, commissioning and experimentation with the single cylinder compression ignition, direct injection engine, operating on liquid ammonia and diesel fuel, with the work conducted at Department of Energy and Process Engineering, NTNU. David will co - supervise a PhD candidate working on this project.
